November Knight Life Article

Are you ready for some fun???  I hope so, because the 10th Annual Halloween Party is almost here!!! Please don’t forget to stop by and enjoy this pleasurable event.  Once again, the Old Council Home will be transformed into the house on haunted hill.  You only have a few days left to find a costume that may win you a fabulous prize in the Costume contest.  MS Project will provide great music and there will be lots of weird and wonderful food.  Cash Bar, costume contest, live band, yummy food, and great friends – what’s not to like?  This fun Adults Only party starts at 9:00 p.m. this Saturday, October 26.  So grab a babysitter and come on by.  This is an event you really don’t want to miss.  Photo’s and contest winners will be published in the December Knight Life.

It is already time to prepare for the annual Thanksgiving dinner to benefit the less fortunate citizens located in the Arlington community and the surrounding areas.  We are looking for volunteers to donate cooked turkeys for this very worthwhile venture.  If you would like to help, please drop off a cooked (unstuffed) twenty-pound turkey from November 25-27 at the Columbus Club.  For more information, please contact Marijo Galvin @ 703-532-8498.

Save the DateLUK is having their annual Christmas Tree Decorating event on Saturday, November 30 beginning at 7:00 p.m.  As always, we are having a “pot luck” get together to kick off the Christmas season.  Please bring a Christmas ornament to spruce up the tree and snacks to share.  If anyone is looking to downsize your old decorations and is trying to find a new home for them, please contact Katie McCarthy.  This is a traditional family event, so please grab the kids and stop by.

LUK is having its annual Christmas party meeting on Thursday, December 5.  All LUK members (past and present), friends of LUK, and potential new members are welcome to attend.  Everyone who wants to participate in the Christmas gift exchange is asked to bring a wrapped gift worth $20.  This is a great meeting for potential members to attend.

It is customary for LUK to wish their members a happy birthday in the monthly Knight Life article.  We have no members with birthdays in November.  Therefore, we are soliciting members with birthdays in November, as well as any other month.  If you are interested in helping out with these fun events or coming by to meet new friends, please join us.  We meet at 7:30 on the first Thursday of each month at the K of C Old Council Home.  Our next LUK meeting is November 7.  For more information, check out our website at
